Dear fellow Hanoverians:
The volunteers at the Hanover Food Pantry are busy sorting and
stocking the huge volume of donations our generous townspeople have
donated over the past month. The call went out and every church,
group, organization, school and sports teams and private citizens
answered that call and then some. Thank you all so much for stocking
our shelves and back room. We are now ready for the upcoming holidays.
As an update of how we distribute food the week of Thanksgiving, the
pantry is open Monday, November 21, for “ingathering” (the
dropping off of donations) from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. We are
distributing the same day from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
To protect the privacy of our clients, we ask that if anyone plans to
donate for Thanksgiving please only come during the ingathering time.
It makes for a busy Monday, but our volunteers are the best and always
do a terrific job handling the rush. We will be closed Wednesday,
November 23rd, to enable our volunteers to have time to enjoy their
families and the holiday.
The pantry could not have existed for 20 years without our excellent
team of volunteers, the town churches and the Hanover Woman’s Club,
Juniors. We have come a long way since 1991. Pantry co-chairs Barbara
and Sally are thankful for everyone involved now and over the past 20
years. We extend our best wishes for a safe and Happy Thanksgiving to
our townspeople. Enjoy!
