Dear fellow Hanoverians:
The following thank you letter is re-printed from a recent e-mail from
Nora Ghostlaw, Hanover High student:
“We want to thank you all for helping us out with our yard sale
fundraiser to raise money for the people of Bon Repos, Haiti. All of
your contributions added up to a huge offering at the sale. We raised
just under $500.00 in sales, and combined with contributions, we
totaled $1,000.00. Kerline Tofuri has arranged for this money to go
towards putting a roof on the school in her home town of Bon Repos.
The school currently has no roof, and we hope to see the work being
done while we are there. We will also be purchasing some basic
medicines (Tylenol, ibuprofen, vitamins) to bring with us to help
stock the local health clinic.
This would not have been possible without the help of all of you. We
know it took time and effort to make the donations for us and we are
extremely grateful to you for that. However, as grateful as we are, it
is the children and teachers of the school in Bon Repos that are truly
benefitting from your generosity.
We are eagerly anticipating our upcoming trip and will be happy to
share our experiences with you when we return.
