Free energy assessment for your home

Dear fellow Hanoverians:
As my faithful readers will know, I am a volunteer editor and writer,
and generally don’t use “Around Town on the Web” for personal
gain. I therefore feel a little guilty sending the following e-mail
and ask for your forgiveness up front. But, I hope you will see that
it is a win-win and that we can ALL benefit!
A few weeks ago at Hanover Day, I stopped at a booth for a company
called “Next Step Living”. The guy out front said two things that
caught my attention… “FREE” and “ENERGY SAVINGS”. One thing
led to another and I am therefore now writing to encourage you to sign
up for a free energy assessment for your home. If you are a National
Grid customer (which most of us in Hanover are), this is a free
service that you technically pay for when you pay your bill whether
you use it or not.
If you have Next Step Living come and do a free energy assessment in
your home, you will receive:

A *No-Cost *home energy assessment (value $300)
*No-Cost*, high efficient CFL light bulbs installed in your home
*No-Cost* low-flow shower heads and installation as necessary
*No-Cost* programmable thermostat and installation
*75% instant discount up to $2,000* for any program eligible
insulation work recommended at the visit
Access to the Heat Loan: a *0% interest loan for 7 years* that can be
used for upgrading heating and cooling systems, hot water heaters,
solar hot water, or replacing single pane windows.

To sign up for your home’s free energy assessment, please click on
this link:

Howard

If you click on that link to sign up and they come and do the
assessment, I will receive a $25 referral gift card! Such a deal!
That’s the win-win!
A few additional words about my energy assessment as long as you have
read this far (you must be interested because otherwise this would
surely be over-kill!)…Dan Howard (whose name appears in that link)
was my “Home Energy Advisor”. He was friendly, professional and
thorough. He spent a couple or three hours at my house, climbed in my
attic to measure my insulation, tested my water heater, and installed
about $300 worth of free light bulbs that will save me close to $200
in electricity costs per year. I didn’t have any major upgrades that
were recommended because I had done two similar energy assessments
previously in the 20 years we have lived here, but I am here to tell
you that the potential additional savings is enormous if you have
never or rarely considered the energy efficiency of your home. After
those previous two visits, we installed ceiling insulation and new
thermostats which brought our bills down considerably!
Good luck with your assessment (if you do one) and thanks in advance
for clicking on the above link so that I get the credit. As a teacher
by trade, every little bit of additional income in the summertime
helps, so I am most grateful for your consideration and support!
