Sunday Teen Choir program in Hanover?

Dear fellow Hanoverians:
A well-liked instructor by students and staff, Chad Weirick is the
assistant music director and principal accompanist for the 200 voice
Boston Gay Men’s Chorus. Traveling the world, his numerous choral
arrangements have been performed and recorded not only the BGMC, but
by many other choruses nationally and internationally. Chad also holds
the position as Minister of Music at the First Congregational Church
in Hanover. Jokingly calling it a ‘gig’, Chad finds it to be one
of his most satisfying endeavors.
When asked what his plans are for the future, Chad stated he is
pondering the idea of directing a teen choir in Hanover. “With the
arts funding dwindling in schools, the opportunities for kids aren’t
as great as they once were. I’d like to give back and teenagers are
so smart and easy to work with that we’d need to only practice once
a week to be ready to perform on Sunday!”
For now though, until the Teen Choral program gets underway, the next
opportunity to hear Chad and the First Congregational Church Choir
will be the Sunday before Christmas on December 23rd. The 8:00 a.m.
and 10:30 a.m. services will feature the annual “Lessons and
Carols”, consisting of the Story of Christmas interspersed with 7
different arrangements of Chad’s featuring all styles of Christmas
music. “I like to mix it up,” Chad stated. “It’s very fun and
brings an international flavor to the service, while still focusing
very much on the essence of Christmas.”
