“Apologies Forthcoming” and the Chinese Cultural Revolution reviewed in Hanover

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

The good folks at the John Curtis Library will be sponsoring
a book talk and signing at the library on Thursday morning, January 15th
at 10:30 a.m. featuring Xujun Eberlein.  Eberlein is the author of a book
of short stories entitled “Apologies Forthcoming”, which center
around China’s Cultural Revolution and its aftermath.  “Apologies
Forthcoming” won the Tartt Fiction Award in 2007.

I read the book a couple of months ago and found it to be powerful
commentary on a difficult phase in the recent history of China.  I hope to
attend and meet the author in person!  This event is free and open to the
public.  Refreshments will be served.
