Dear fellow Hanoverians:
As briefly mentioned previously here on “Around Town on the Web”,
there is a Special Town Meeting scheduled for this Thursday, October
10th at 7:00 p.m. at Hanover High School.
There are six articles on the warrant, two by petition, three from the
Community Preservation Committee, and one from the Police Chief/Board
of Selectmen. The warrant may be found here:
http://www.hanover-ma.gov/sites/hanoverma/files/file/file/2013_special_town_meeting_warrant.pdf
. Issues to be discussed on Thursday night include future funding for
Forge Pond Park, athletic facilities at the high school, a pocket park
at Gallant, and a new fingerprinting bylaw.
The Community Preservation Committee and the Advisory Committee are
both meeting Wednesday night to discuss the articles. The Advisory
Committee will then be voting to make their recommendations for all of
us at Town Meeting.
In the meantime, a helpful accounting of the Community Preservation
Fund may be found here:
http://www.hanover-ma.gov/sites/hanoverma/files/file/file/cpa_fund_accounting.pdf
. For more information about the Special Town Meeting, please contact
the Selectmen’s Office at (781) 826-5000, x1084.
