Dear fellow Hanoverians:
Town of Hanover residents are reminded that the 2014 “Street Listing
Questionnaire”, more commonly known as the town’s census, has been
mailed to all households and needs to be returned as soon as possible
to the Town Clerk/Board of Registrar’s Office in Hanover Town Hall.
Senior Registrar Nancy Goldthwait noted that the census is important
for a number of reasons. “Hanover Police and Fire Departments need
to know who is living in a residence so that they can respond
appropriately in case of an emergency, the correct tally of persons is
necessary for voting purposes, and so that Hanover receives adequate
state funding based on population,” Goldthwait said.
Town Clerk and member of the Board of Registrars Cathy Harder-Bernier
added, “it is important that you promptly review your form, make
changes as needed, and sign and return it to the Town
Clerk/Registrar’s Office – *even* if all the information is correct.
Forms may be returned by mail or dropped off at Town Hall. There is
even a mail slot in the front door of Town Hall that allows for
after-hours drop-offs.”
“Help the town to save on postage and avoid having to do a second
mailing to your home by returning your census today,” said
Goldthwait.
