Dear fellow Hanoverians:
Hanover High School varsity baseball captain Ryan Kelleher is again running
the Matheny Baseball Camp over April school vacation. This year he is
running the camp as a part of his Senior Humanities Project along with his
fellow senior baseball captain Drew Caldwell and Phil LeVangie.
Last year Ryan renamed the camp to the Matheny Baseball Camp to keep a
Hanover tradition going in memory of Stephen Matheny. As many readers will
know, Stephen Matheny was a hard working and dedicated athlete who wore the
Hanover name across his chest proudly. Ryan and his teammates intend to
keep Stephen’s legacy going by teaching the younger athletes of Hanover
about who Stephen was and what he stood for.
This year they have changed the camp to a Middle School Camp (grades 5 –
8). They will be using the high school fields so that the 7th and 8th
graders are on the Big League field.
The cost of the camp is $60. It includes instruction from varsity baseball
players, live games, and fun drills to go along with pizza and t-shirts.
They will also be giving each camper an individual evaluation sheet to
inform them what to work on.
This year’s camp will be held on:
April 21st, 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
April 22nd, 9:00 a.m. – 12 noon
April 23rd OFF (varsity baseball doubleheader)
April 24th, 9:00 a.m. – 12 noon
April 25th, 9:00 a.m. – 12 noon
They will encourage all of the campers to attend the varsity doubleheader
at the High School on Wednesday April 23rd.
Attached please find the registration form. If you have any questions,
please contact Ryan at 781-264-5228 or rkelleher14@yahoo.com .
