Recycle your clothes into cash for the schools

Dear fellow Hanoverians:
Turn your castoffs into cash for Hanover schools!

When you clean out your closets, bring all your old clothes, shoes and
household linens to the new Bay State Textile containers, now located at
all four Hanover public schools. Bay State Textiles of Pembroke is
partnering with the Hanover Schools to rescue these resources from the
trash, and will pay the schools $100 for every ton of outgrown sweaters,
old painter pants, unwanted stuffed animals, and other household
“soft-wear”.

Sheets, towels, coats, purses, belts, Bay State Textile wants it all: the
good, the bad and the ugly. They only ask that items be dry and reasonably
clean.

Put your unwanted items in plastic bags, so they stay dry during their
journey to a second life as refurbished clothing and household linens,
wiping cloths, insulation, carpet padding, etc.

Hanover pays about $14,000 to dispose of the estimated half million pounds
of textiles discarded by residents each year. That material could bring in
$27,000 in revenue if it’s put in the Bay State Textile containers.
There is also a BST trailer at the transfer station. Revenue from that
container offsets the cost of transfer station operation, saving tax
dollars.

Your old clothes, shoes and household linens are too good for the trash!
Bring them to the schools for a second chance.
