Dear fellow Hanoverians:
The following letter is from our Superintendent of Schools, Matthew Ferron.
If you have questions or need more information, please contact his office
at rocallaghan@hanoverschools.org :
“Are you aware that Hanover has an exciting opportunity to renovate and
expand the Center/Sylvester Elementary School? There are important
decisions to be made in the weeks ahead that will help shape the future of
the Hanover Public Schools, and we want you to be involved in the process.
You are invited to a community forum and School Committee meeting next
Wednesday evening, October 14th at 6:00 pm in the Hanover High School
auditorium. This forum will also be broadcast on HCTV and live-streamed on
the HCTV website: HCTV Live-stream. Important decisions will be made over
the next several weeks that require transparency and clarity of information
for our entire community. We are at an important juncture in the building
project, which affords us the opportunity to consider various design
options and the future grade configuration of our two elementary schools.
This forum will include:
• Updates from the Building Committee and School Configuration
Sub-Committee
• Design plans and options for the Center/Sylvester School
• The impact that the various design options will have on enrollment and
student placement across the district
• Possibilities of using a neighborhood vs. a town-wide configuration
model
• Potential impact on school transportation
• MSBA reimbursement and financing levels
• Opportunity for questions and feedback
We are looking forward to a very productive evening on Wednesday and hope
you can join us! If you are unable to attend the forum, but would like to
submit a question or comment, you may do so via an online form: Online
Submission Form. For more information on the Center/Sylvester Building
Project and school configuration options, please visit our dedicated web
page at www.hanoverschools.org/future .”
