A simple foul shot made it 1000

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

In the end, it was a simple foul shot. One point was all she needed, and
her opponents practically handed it to her. She had practiced this shot
ever since she could throw a ball ten feet in the air. But, that was long
after she worked very hard for years on end, including being double and
triple teamed at times last night, and muscled her way through the other
999 points.

The shot barely touched the rim, and swished in. Stephanie Flynn, senior
captain of the Hanover Girls Varsity Basketball team, had just scored her
1000th point in a lopsided game against Silver Lake at home last night.
She joined the ranks of just Jessica Sylvia and Kelly Duval and became only
the third female basketball player in Hanover High School history to attain
that amazing feat.

Please join me in congratulating this awesome three-sport athlete and
daughter of Dave and Kim Flynn. Nice job, Stephanie. Your town is proud
of you; good luck at Columbia next year!
