Dear fellow Hanoverians:
There are two “yard sale” type donation drives going on this fall –
one for the Hanover Music Club and one for the Hanover Foundation for
Educational Enrichment. The two organizations are handling their donation
drives a little differently. Here’s the info regarding the HFEE drive; I
hope to send the HMC info out soon, too!
It’s time to clean out your closets, cupboards, basement and garage in
support of HFEE!
Please donate clothing and household goods to Savers (on Route 53) during
the HFEE Fundraising Drive September 9-18.
All community members, their families and friends are invited to donate
gently-used clothing and household items to SAVERS in Hanover to support
the Hanover Foundation for Educational Enrichment’s fundraising drive.
Acceptable donations include:
Clothing, shoes, hats, scarves, undergarments, jewelry, accessories, bags,
wallets, bedding, towels, curtains, tablecloths and other cloth materials.
Please bag toys, small household goods and appliances, books, CD’s and
DVD’s separately.
The Do Not Accept List includes:
All weapons, hazardous materials, construction materials, flammable
products, automobile parts, damaged furniture, beds, bedding parts,
televisions, computer monitors, infant car seats, cribs and other infant
products restricted by law, swing sets, food, pets, large appliances,
marine vessels, swimming pools, vehicles, cash and intangible property.
When you drop off your bags please let them know it is for HFEE and receive
a receipt with your total bag weight (they will weigh the bags). Please let
HFEE know of your donation by emailing a picture of your receipt to:
hanoverfoundation@gmail.com so they have a record. Events like the SAVERS
Donation Drive help HFEE raise needed funds to award grant money to our
Hanover classroom teachers who are trying to enrich their academic
programs.
All goods collected through the Donation Drive fundraiser program are sold
to Savers, the parent company to great thrift stores like Value Village,
Unique, and Savers. They pay HFEE by the pound for every qualifying
donation received. In turn, these items help keep their floors freshly
stocked. Savers, Inc. is a privately held global thrift retailer. Through
its unique business model of purchasing, reselling and recycling secondhand
merchandise, the Savers family of thrift stores benefits more than 150
nonprofit organizations, gives local consumers a smart way to shop, and
saves more than 600 million pounds of quality used goods from landfills
each year.
Please start bagging things up to drop off at Savers from Sept 9 – 18! As
always, thanks for your continued support of HFEE!
