Update on the hurricane relief drive for Haiti

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

This just in from Hanover’s own Kerline Tofuri of Jou Nouvo!

“Thank you for your generous donations of money, clothing, shoes, and a
variety of other household items for Jou Nouvo’s Hurricane Matthew Relief
Drive. You donated more than we ever imagined, and because of your
generosity, we were able to fill a 20 ft. container full of items and ship
it to Haiti.

On behalf of the Jou Nouvo’s Board of Directors and the Hurricane Relief
Committee, I would like to thank the office of St. Andrew Episcopal Church
of Hanover and its parishioners for their donations and for providing the
space to receive donations. A special thank you to the United Church of
Christ of Norwell for the emergency funding of $3,000, and for donations
from the congregation. Also, our deepest gratitude to the congregation of
Holy Mothers Collaborative, Saint Mary of Sacred Heart, and Saint Helen,
Mother of the Emperor of Constantine for their support in promoting and
contributing to the relief drive.

Please know that your generosity will help Jou Nouvo continue to make a
difference in the lives of families in Haiti who have been terribly
affected by Hurricane Matthew. We have already helped 6 of the 15 families
who have been identified as having the most immediate need for roof
repairs. We have distributed food and water to over 60 families, and we are
committed to feeding an additional 40 families by the end of this month.

Our goal is to be able to continue to assist these families beyond the
initial 6-month period, and provide on-going assistance in addition to what
we have already accomplished. With the 20 ft. container on its way to
Haiti, we are so excited that soon we will have the opportunity to
distribute the items we collected to families who need them most.

Once again, thank you for your generosity and for making it possible for
Jou Nouvo to serve the less fortunate families among us!

Appreciatively,
Kerline Tofuri, Founder and Board President”
