Household Hazardous Waste Day

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

South Shore Recycling Cooperative’s Household Hazardous Waste Day is
scheduled at the Hanover Transfer Station on April 29, 2017 from 9:00 a.m.
– 1:00 p.m.

Residents may attend at no charge, with proof of residency. Town may limit
subsidized quantities.

Material Accepted:
Place accepted materials in cardboard or rigid plastic containers, in their
original or labeled containers if possible. Do NOT pack in plastic bags.

oil based paint and stain*
hobby/artist supplies
photography chemicals
fiberglass resin
adhesives
pesticides, herbicides, fungicides
fertilizers containing pesticides
pool chemicals
cesspool cleaners
wood preservatives

From the GARAGEand the HOUSE:
flammable liquids and aerosols
gasoline, motor oil mixtures
tire cleaners
transmission fluid
degreasers
carburetor cleaner
brake fluid
marine and auto paints
Mercury, including thermometers and thermostats *
drain cleaners
moth balls and crystals
hazardous cleaners and polishes
poisons
acids and bases
asbestos (friable) – wetted and double-bagged: call ahead 781.329.8318

and must be in usable condition. It will be recycled into new paint by The
Paint Exchange of Rockland.
