More Hanoverade news

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

I was disappointed that the following press release
regarding February’s Hanoverade fundraiser did not make it into yesterday’s
Mariner.  Of particular note is the good work of ten year old Patrick
Flynn.  As you get ready for tonight’s Hanoverade fundraiser at
Squire’s, I thought you would still like to hear last month’s
report!

Hanoverade held its latest fundraiser to support Hanover
families during this economic crisis on Friday, February 27th, 2009,
at a Family Bowling Night at the Boston Bowl (formerly the Hanover
Bowladrome).  Well over 100 bowlers were in attendance, and at least
another 50 people came and “socialized with a purpose”.  The
fundraiser benefitted the Hanover Habitat for Humanity house, and $1,300 was
raised that evening!  As one participant remarked, “In all my years
of living in Hanover, I have never seen the parking lot at the Bowladrome so
crowded!”

Of particular note was the single $275 donation of ten year
old Hanover resident Patrick Flynn.  Patrick held his birthday party in
conjunction with the Hanoverade fundraiser, and asked his guests to make a
donation to Habitat for Humanity in lieu of birthday presents.  Patrick is
the son of proud parents Kim and David Flynn of Hanover.

Habitat is currently raising funds to construct a home on
the corner of Walnut and Main Streets in Hanover for a worthy family in
need.  The Hanover Habitat for Humanity project has raised 50% of its
$140,000 goal in order to make the dream of homeownership a reality for a
deserving family.  Thanks to the assistance provided by the Hanoverade
fundraiser, another family will soon have a simple, decent place to call home!

Hanoverade was founded in the fall of 2008 to address the
alarming and increasing economic realities for residents of Hanover.
Founder Liz Collins and friends have raised over $3300 to date to benefit the
Hanover Food Pantry, the Hanover Visiting Nurse Association, and Hanover
Habitat for Humanity house.  If you could not make it that night, your
donations are still very appreciated and welcomed.  For more information
or to make a contribution, please contact Liz Collins at lizcollins2@verizon.net .
