Dear fellow Hanoverians:
Celebrate Hanover Day this coming weekend!
The Hanover Cultural Council’s annual community celebration is almost
here, as Hanover Day gets under way later this week.
On Thursday, June 22, the awards reception for Juried Art Show takes place
from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at The Frame Center, 152 Rockland St., Hanover . Come
meet the artists and browse their work on display.
On Friday, June 23, Hanover Seniors will be treated to a special BBQ
luncheon and entertainment at the senior center. Also, for Hanover
residents of all ages, the huge carnival opens at 6:00 p.m. on Friday and
runs until 10 p.m. at B. Everett Hall/Sylvester Field. Wristbands for
unlimited rides will be sold on Friday evening only.
On Saturday, June 24, the fun begins at 9:00 a.m. with the Hanover Chamber
of Commerce’s Hanover Day 5K Road Race and Kids Fun Run. The race begins at
St. Mary’s Church ands ends at Hanover Town Hall.
At 10 a.m. on Saturday, events on the main field begin — the craft fair,
carnival, entertainment on two stages, and food vendors. Check the schedule
for all the events, including a Battle of the Bands, Hanover’s Got
Talent, artisan craft fair, community art project, fairy houses, Hanover
Then and Now display, 3-on-3 basketball tournament, and much, much more!
The daytime MC will be Jerry Thornton of Barstool Sports, while Lisa
Azizian of WATD will host the nighttime festivities.
Come early and stay late to enjoy great food, live music and performances
by local talents (including Entrain), kids’ activities, shopping at the
craft fair, and so much more. You can show your Indian pride by purchasing
Hanover clothing and gear, and celebrate our championship athletic teams.
The celebration’s highlight is the McGee Toyota Fireworks Show on
Saturday at 9:00 p.m.!
