New programs at the COA

Mark your calendars and prepare yourself for many new, free, innovative
programs and events. Ask at the front desk at the Council on Aging, 665

“BEYOND THE MAT: YOGA AND MEDITATION” on Wednesdays, continues through
November 7, 5:45 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. This is an opportunity to tame your
mind and quiet all those thoughts going on in your head at the same time.
Learn about Kripalu Yoga with Kripalu certified instructor, Nancy Boyle.
Chair assist provided.

“MEET THE AUTHORS”, a series starting on Thursdays from 6:00 p.m. –
7:30 p.m. with light refreshments, book sales and author signing. Presented
by the Hanover Council on Aging and the John Curtis Library. Authors will
receive the John Curtis Award for Lifelong Learning. Bring questions for
the authors. October 25, Jerry Thornton, author of “5 Rings: The Superbowl
History of the New England Patriots”. Thornton will provide an all-access
pass to the Patriots years of unparalleled greatness from the unique
perspective of an observant, utterly obsessive, and dedicated fan.

“HISTORY MATTERS: BUILDING COMMUNITY THROUGH HISTORY”, a yearlong monthly
series on Wednesday evenings, starting October 17 from 6:30 p.m. – 8:00
p.m., and presented by the Hanover Historical Society and the Hanover
Council on Aging. Historians and celebrated authors to speak. Light
refreshments, door prize. October 17th is opening night with Hanover’s
Leslie J. Molyneaux, author of “Thomas Drew’s South Shore”. Hear the
story of how Drew used his kitchen as his darkroom, across from his general
store, leaving a legacy filled with photographs on glass plate negatives.
Glass negatives on site with other historical pieces on view.
