Dear fellow Hanoverians:

Attention all parents with children on an IEP:  Are
you prepared for your child’s Annual IEP Meeting?

Please join the Hanover Parent Advisory Council tomorrow night for
“The Parent Playbook:  How To Be An Effective Member Of The IEP
Team”.  This workshop will be held on Tuesday, April 7th, from 7:00
p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at the Hanover High School Library. 
In this interactive workshop
presented by Elaine Rabbitt, Parent Support Specialist from EMR Parent Support
Services, you will learn techniques and strategies that will prepare and
organize you for an IEP team meeting.

Strategies for “Playing” on the IEP Team


How to Effect the Outcome of the IEP Team


How to Create A “Whole Team” Approach (not School vs. Family)


The Power of Positive Thinking

Elaine
currently advocates for her own son and mentors and supports families in their
journey of advocating for their children. She has received training through the
Federation of Children with Special Needs and Wrightslaw.  The workshop is free and open to the public.  For

What is Hanover PAC?  The PAC is a parent group whose mission
is to work toward understanding, respect, support and appropriate education for
all children with learning differences in our community. The Hanover PAC will
provide an opportunity for parents to network and share information as well as
a way to work constructively with our schools to make them the best they can be
for all children.
