Teen Halloween Makeup Workshop

Want to get a head start on your Halloween costume? Anne Kerrigan of
Fabulous Facepainting will be at the library to get you started with
tips/tricks! And, no, this isn’t just an ‘oh, how cute, it’s a basketball
on the cheek’ type of face painting – NOPE!! So come with your ideas, and
see what she can do.

This is a Young Adult (ages 12-17) program ONLY. Please respect the age
limitations.

Wednesday, October 20th at 7:00 p.m. :
Car Care 101
(Virtual on Zoom)

Join the library on Zoom for car care tips from the pros! AAA Northeast’s
presentation on Car Maintenance gives basic strategies for vehicle upkeep
and checks that will be important for identifying further potential
programs before they become a problem on the road.

The presentation will cover the following topics:

· Checking tires for wear and tear, proper inflation, and air
pressure
· The importance of scheduling maintenance at with the dealership
or a mechanic
· Basic cleaning tips that help maintain the vehicle
· Gauging different car fluid levels (oil, coolant, etc.)
· Items that should go in an emergency kit

The program will be presented by John Paul AAA’s Car Doctor and
Automotive Consumer Advocate.

Saturday, October 23rd at 3:00 p.m. :
Fall Baking and Cooking with Rob Scott
(Virtual on Facebook Live)

The library will be joined by Simply Creative Chef Rob Scott for his
Virtual Fall Baking and Cooking Festival on Saturday, October 23rd at 3:00
p.m. The event will be presented via live stream on Facebook Live. Recipes
include harvest pumpkin crumb cake, autumn garden vegetable soup, and
chopped salad (w/ apples, cranberries, and apple cider dressing).

Recipes will be emailed to registered attendees ahead of the event.

New England Legends with Jeff Belanger
John Curtis Free Library Meeting Room

Jeff Belanger will be at the library on Monday, October 25th. For over 20
years, Jeff has been exploring the unexplained. He seeks out history,
folklore, ghosts, monsters, and legends all over the world and in your
backyard. New England Legends offers a tour of haunts, monsters, aliens,
and weird history from our region. Based on Jeff’s popular weekly podcast
and his Emmy-nominated television series on PBS and Amazon Prime, the
program presents highlights from his own adventures and work. This program
includes a different set of stories every time it’s given. The bizarre is
closer than you think!
