HHS choral groups and band shine in Williamsburg VA festival

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

Speaking
of talented Hanover High students who will be appearing in the Talent Show on
May 15th, I was thrilled to hear the recent great news regarding the
HHS choirs and bands.  Both groups traveled to Williamsburg, Virginia over
April vacation to compete in a huge music festival.  Congratulations to
the HHS Music Department on their outstanding accomplishments!  The
Concert Band, Jazz Band and Marching Band received all silver medals.  The
Concert Chorus, Jazz Choir, VOX and The Corporation received all gold
medals.  In addition, VOX was awarded the best choral ensemble award and
Hanover High School was awarded the Sweepstakes Medal for sweeping the competition
with gold medals.  Directors Alyson Greer and Paul Ketchen have brought incredible
spark and enthusiasm to both of those programs over the last couple of years,
and the kids are just tremendous.  It’s great to see such a vibrant
music program at the high school.

I
am sure that many of these same kids will be participating in the
previously-mentioned Talent Show on the 15th to benefit the Junior
Class.  Don’t miss it!

Many thanks to local singing luminary Jim Gallagher for this
inside scoop, and to the good folks in the Main Office at the High School for
the details.  J
