Zeroing in on Election Day – Tuesday, November 8

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

The mid-term elections are finally upon us, and Hanover is already voting
in large numbers! As of the end of the day on Thursday, November 3rd,
fully 21% of Hanover’s registered voters had already cast their ballots,
either by Voting by Mail or Early in-person. That crushes the statewide
average of 17.5%! Great job, Hanover! Let’s keep it up!

In-person Early Voting is now over so that the Town Clerk’s Office may
prepare for Election Day, Tuesday, November 8th. The polls will be open
from 7:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Election Day at Hanover High School, 287
Cedar Street. There is no school that day, so voters may park in either
the front or back parking lots at the High School and come in either set of
doors – front or back. We look forward to seeing you!

If you requested and received a Vote by Mail (VBM) ballot and haven’t sent
it in yet, it MUST be received or postmarked by Tuesday, November 8th at
8:00 p.m. You may drop it in the ballot drop box in front of Town Hall or
drop it in US Mail. The Town Clerk’s Office advice is that you do so this
weekend so that it is received in plenty of time. Domestically mailed
ballots postmarked by the 8th and received after the 8th will not be
counted until Monday, November 14th! The ballot drop box in front of Town
Hall will be locked for good at 8:00 p.m. on Election Day, too. So, get
your ballot in TODAY!

If you will be out of town Tuesday during polling hours (7:00 a.m. – 8:00
p.m.) and don’t already have a VBM ballot, you may apply for an in-person
absentee ballot between 8:00 a.m. – 12 noon on Monday, November 7th in the
Town Clerk’s Office on the lower level of Hanover Town Hall, 550 Hanover
Street. At 12 noon on Monday the office will close so that the Town
Clerk’s Office staff can go set up at the high school for Tuesday.
