Dear fellow Hanoverians:
The Hanover Democratic Town Committee is pleased to announce it is now
accepting applications for the Arthur D. Slaney Scholarship.
The Committee will award two $1,000 scholarships to graduating high school
seniors who reside in Hanover, Massachusetts.
To be eligible for the scholarship, the applicant must be a graduating high
school senior residing in Hanover. There is no GPA requirement, but it will
be taken into consideration. Additionally, the applicant must be registered
or, if under 18, pre-registered to vote.
In addition to the application, the applicant must submit a high school
transcript, one letter of recommendation, and a maximum 500-word essay
reflecting upon the poem “The Hill We Climb” by Amanda Gorman, the 2021
Inaugural poet laureate and fellow GenZ-er.
The deadline for submitting the applications is April 11, 2023. For more
information about the requirements and to receive an application, please

The Arthur D. Slaney Scholarship aims to support students who are committed
to making a positive impact on their community. The Hanover Democratic Town
Committee is proud to offer this scholarship to Hanover’s graduating
