Cast your ballot in the Annual Town Election

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

The Hanover Town Clerk’s Office is already seeing a huge uptick in interest
surrounding the Annual Town Election over prior years. Please see the
below information and updates to help you to make sure you are able to cast
your ballot!

Monday, May 13th at 5:00 p.m. is the last day and time to submit a Vote by
Mail application to the Town Clerk’s Office. It has to be RECEIVED in the
office by that day – not postmarked. The office will be open from 8:00
a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Monday to receive your applications! Vote by Mail is
available to ANYONE without an excuse.

Extra election staff have been hired to help cover the Town Clerk’s Office
for just this coming week – May 13 – 17th. As a result, IF YOU QUALIFY for
an absentee ballot, unlike previous weeks, you may request one without an
appointment. You can vote by absentee ballot if:
–You will be away from Hanover on Election Day, May 18th
–You have a religious belief that prevents you from voting at your polling
location on Election Day or
–You have a disability that prevents you from voting at your polling
location
You will sign an affidavit under the pains and penalties of perjury that
you qualify before you will be issued a ballot. The Town Clerk’s Office
will be open without an appointment just next week on Monday from 8:00 a.m.
– 5:00 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Wednesday
from 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 12 noon.

In-person voting for all registered voters on Election Day, Saturday May
18th, will be from 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. at Hanover High School. You may
park in the front or in the back as both doors will be open. There will be
extra handicapped-accessible parking in the back, along with Election Day
Voter-only parking spots also in the back. There will likely be fewer
people electioneering in the front!

ALL ballots must be received by 6:00 p.m. on Saturday in order to be
counted. If you still need to return your Vote by Mail ballot, please
deposit it in the secure camera-monitored ballot drop box in front of Town
Hall. Election workers empty the box and process those ballots every day.
