Dear fellow Hanoverians:
What’s all this about an override? What does it mean to me, and to our
town? Here are some basics:
– Every year, Hanover’s budgetary spending increases. Employees get
raises, costs to do business go up, health insurance prices increase, etc.
Proposition 2 1/2 keeps that spending limited to a 2.5% increase plus the
value of any new growth in town. Some years, our costs go up more than
Prop 2 1/2 plus new growth allows. Last year was one of those years. This
year is also one of those years, because last year’s override attempt
failed.

– What positions in town will be restored or cut if the override passes or

(begins in person only on May 5th), and at the Town Election (Vote by Mail
