Spring walk in the woods

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

The Hanover Open Space Committee will be leading a free public walk on
Saturday, May 2 at 9:30 a.m. Join them on the Colby Phillips Trail off
Whiting Street for varying length walks. Those who want a short excursion
can do a one mile round-trip to the Cushing Brook bridge and back, with a
stop at the observation deck. If you’d like a little longer walk, continue
past the bridge to the historic West Hanover cemetery and the Rail Trail
for an additional mile round-trip. This flagship conservation property has
beautiful uplands and wetlands with all the sights and sounds of spring.

Park at the Hanover Middle School entrance off Whiting Street where the
group will meet. Sturdy walking shoes and insect repellent are recommended.
There are some ups and downs and tree roots to negotiate, but it’s a mostly
level trail. If you have any questions, please contact
HanoverTrailwalkers@gmail.com.
