Town Meeting is Monday night!

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

One of the most important nights of Hanover’s year is almost upon us…Town
Meeting! Board and Committee members from all over town have toiled
endlessly in preparation for both our Special Town Meeting and Annual Town
Meeting that will be held at Hanover High School, 287 Cedar Street on
Monday, May 4th beginning at 7:00 p.m. (for the Special) and 7:30 p.m. for
the Annual. Please join me in thanking those noble community servants.
Democracy is alive and well thanks to all of them.

Now, it is your chance to be heard. Hanover Town Meeting pre-dates our
country’s independence from England, and is no less important now than it
was then. It is your chance, as a registered voter, to determine the
town’s spending which will ultimately determine your tax rate, and so many
other issues. You are the legislature! Don’t miss out; clear your
calendar and plan to attend. Don’t forget that you have to be there in
person. There is no absentee or early voting for Town Meeting.

Parking will be at a premium, so come and check in early, especially if you
have mobility issues. Check in begins at 6:00 p.m. next Monday. Car-pool
if you can. Park in the front if you can; the back doors will be locked
all night. If you end up parking out back or at Cedar School, give
yourself plenty of time to walk around to the front to check in. Plan for
two nights, with the second night likely to be held Tuesday, May 5th. If a
second night is necessary, the attendees at the end of the night on Monday
will decide the exact date and time.

Hanover High School’s Business Club/DECA students will be selling Hilliards
candy bars, so bring some cash for your evening snack. Here’s some more
information about DECA:
