Dear fellow Hanoverians:
ICYMI (“In case you missed it”!), there’s a State Primary Election on
Tuesday, September 1, 2026. By now you’ve received your Vote by Mail
postcard from the State, and if you wanted to vote by mail, hopefully
you’ve sent it in. The Hanover election crew has received over 1500
applications, thank you! (Now just send your voted ballot back! :) )
At this point, with only two weeks left before the election, we’re on to
the other three voting options for the State Primary. Go here for more
details about all three:

. Hanover benefitted from the hard work of HHS grad and UMass-Amherst
incoming freshman Town Clerk’s Office intern Paisley Stevens this summer.
Before she left for school, Paisley learned how to write a press release
and very capably summed up one of the other voting options. Thanks for all
you did for us this summer, Paisley! Anyone who knows her can hear her
voice in these words and be proud:
Intern Paisley Stevens announced today that in person absentee voting has
opened for the election scheduled for September 1st, 2026.
Hello fellow Hanover residents. It is finally that time of year again and
we have two elections incoming. In person absentee voting has opened for
the September 1st election. This is the State Primary election. If you’re
eligible, we recommend you to vote, it is your right and civil duty! If one
of the situations below applies to you, you are able to vote absentee:
1. If you will be absent from Hanover during polling hours
2. If you have a physical disability
3. If you have a religious belief that prevents you from coming to the
polls on Election Day
You can access an Absentee Ballot application either online or in person.
If you choose to come in person, you must call the Town Clerk’s Office to
make an appointment. Applications must be applied for by 12:00 noon, August
31st, the day before the election.
For more information about the process of voting by absentee, or to make an
appointment to vote absentee, please contact Catherine Harder-Bernier by
e-mail at catherine.harderbernier@hanover-ma.gov .
