Historic House and Garden Tour

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

The Hanover Garden Club is hosting a Historic House
and Garden Tour on Saturday, July 24, from 9:30
a.m. to 4:00 p.m., rain or shine.

Showcasing the tour will be a carefully restored antique
home, along with its garden.  Six other members’ gardens will be
open.  Among them will be conifer gardens, a dahlia display and a
vegetable garden, a woodland water garden and cottage, daylilies, and a home
totally surrounded by the garden.

A silent auction will be held at the Elms’ Clubhouse,
located at American Elm Avenue, off Main Street, where refreshments will be
served. The silent auction will include an original painting of the Bonney
Twins by Betsey Josselyn, a turned bowl by Wally Kemp, a Nantucket basket
constructed by Stephen Blampied, a Shaker table made by Hal Thomas and a
mature Clivia raised by Jeannine Risgin.  Bonney Daylilies will be for
sale.

Tickets ahead of time are available for $20 at the John
Curtis Library and the Winthrop Hallmark store at Tedeschi Plaza, Columbia
Road. On the day of the tour, they will be available for $25 at the Elms’
Clubhouse.  For information, contact Joan Thomas at (781) 926-7952 or halhanover@msn.com .
