Hanover’s Got Talent auditions

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

On Tuesday, June 4th from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at HHS Auditorium, the good
folks from Hanover Day will be holding auditions for “Hanover’s Got
Talent.” This yearly event invites talented residents of all ages to come
and sing a song on the big stage. Performers may use music from an
iPod/iPhone/mp3 player or play instruments and sing their favorite tune.
Hanover Day also invites performers with any other talents to show off what
they do!

The auditions will be fun and everyone gets the chance to be included.
Hanover Day loves all types of music and performers and hopes to see you
there!

To audition, please e-mail Dave Malekpour at HanoverDayMusic@gmail.com to
secure an audition spot.

Everyone who can join Hanover Day for the auditions – please bring friends
too! Hanover Day folks have had some fun at the auditions in past years,
and an audience makes it better. Everyone is invited to come check it out!

If you have a band, Hanover Day will be announcing details of the South
Shore Youth Battle of the Bands for Hanover Day 2019 which has been a great
event for everyone too so stay tuned for those announcements.

Organ Dedication Concert Set for May 5

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

In order to celebrate the installation of their new Rodgers Organ, the
First Congregational Church of Hanover will be presenting an Organ
Dedication Concert on Sunday, May 5, for their church and our community.
All are welcome to attend this free concert, so be sure to invite friends
and family. The organ was purchased through a fundraising campaign that
resulted in contributions from many church members and music lovers.

At the keyboard for the dedication will be Minister of Music and Organ
Virtuoso Chad Weirick, who will demonstrate many of the organ’s
capabilities. Joining in the celebration will be percussionist Tim
Maxwell, the Senior Choir, as well as other musicians from the
congregation. The one-hour concert will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday May 5,
in the sanctuary. A time for fellowship and refreshments will follow in
the vestry.

Made in America, the Classic Series Rodgers Organ 589 is packed with an
array of modern features from the onboard Hymn Player with 350 commonly
played hymn tunes, to the 32-note velocity-sensitive pedalboard for
expressive orchestral effects. Other features include two keyboard manuals
with lighted tab controls, locking roll top, and built in music desk lamp.
Come enjoy the free music and celebration.

For more information, contact Ava Sigsby, ats@sigscom.com or the church
office, office@fcchanover.org 781-826-4762.

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

The Hanover Foundation for Educational Enrichment (HFEE) is pleased to
announce and invites you to attend a complimentary presentation called
Angst, Raising Awareness Around Anxiety at Hanover High School on May 2nd
at 6:30 p.m. Angst is a film that explores anxiety, its causes, effects
and what we can do about it. The filmmakers’ goal is to have a global

anxiety and what they’ve learned about it. The film includes discussions
with mental health experts about the causes of anxiety and its sociological
effects, as well as help, resources and tools. Following the film we will
have a discussion with a panel made up of mental health staff from Hanover
High School, Hanover Middle School and Dr. Julie Love, psychiatric nurse

Candidate’s Night

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

Candidates Night, sponsored by the Hanover Woman’s Club, Juniors will take
place on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. in the large meeting room at
the Hanover Town Hall, 550 Hanover Street. Candidates Night is an annual
event that features candidates running for office in Hanover. The program
will consist of a short presentation by each candidate running for a town
office followed by a question and answer period led by Moderator Joan
Port-Farwell.

The forum is open to the public and gives those attending a chance to hear
the views of the candidates on important issues affecting the town and to
ask questions of those candidates. Hearing the candidates in this setting
will give town residents the opportunity to cast an educated vote on
Saturday, May 11, during the town elections. With nine open positions for
town offices, it should prove to be an informative meeting and it is hoped
that many residents will attend.
