Gently used sports equipment give-away

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

Three Hanover High School seniors, Braden Glynn, Brendan Quinn and Kevin
Buckley want to thank everyone who donated their gently used sports gear to
them for their senior humanities project. They will be giving all of the
donations back to the community for free!

They have lots of baseball gloves, bats, cleats, hockey sticks, skates,
lacrosse sticks, basketballs, soccer balls, skateboards, softballs,
softball helmets and more!!!
The sports gear giveaway event will be held on Tuesday, April 16th at
Hanover High School from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m.

Stop by and pick up some great gear…all free! If you need more
information or have further questions, please contact Braden at
bglynn19@hanoverstudents.org .

Sylvester School rehabilitation project

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

Dave Traggorth, Hanover resident and principal of Traggorth Companies, will
be presenting information about the proposed rehabilitation of the
Sylvester School into age restricted housing, and be available to answer

Food Truck Tuesday – Opening Day to donate to HHS’s Safe Grad Night

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

For the South Shore Food Truck Association’s Opening Day Food Truck
Tuesday on April 16th at the Mall, all the trucks have agreed to donate 5%
of sales to Hanover High’s Safe Grad Night.

In addition to 14 food trucks, they will also have live music, the Bubble
Lady (from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m.) and Clay Chick Truck which will be doing
make and take crafts from their truck.
Food Truck Tuesday will run from April 16th through the end of October
every week from 4:00 – 7:30 p.m. (rain or shine) in the JC Penney Parking
lot. They will have a themed Tuesday once a month with a featured
ingredient.

Phoenix Lodge public breakfast

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

Public Breakfast

Phoenix Masonic Lodge, located at 133 Broadway (the corner of Broadway and
Washington Street, in the Four Corners area) in Hanover will be having
their next monthly Public Breakfast on Sunday, April 14, 2019. Breakfast
will be served from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. by the volunteer members of Phoenix
Lodge.

Their all-you-can-eat menu includes pancakes, French toast, bacon, sausage,
and their own homemade home fries and roast beef hash. They also offer
scrambled eggs, fried eggs cooked to order, a variety of toasts, various
juices and coffee. The price is $8.00 for adults, $4.00 for kids ages 5 to
12, and kids under 5 are FREE.

Proceeds from their breakfasts are used to support the local food pantries
in Hanover, Norwell and Pembroke.

Hanover Parks and Recreation’s Annual Egg Hunt

Hanover Parks and Recreation’s Annual Egg Hunt

Please join Park and Rec for their annual Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 20th
at 2:00 p.m. at Forge Pond Park (253 King Street). This event is FREE! They
will have an egg hunt (divided into age groups), games, activities, music
and pictures with the bunny!

*Egg Hunt will start PROMPTLY at 2:00 p.m. at the Baseball Fields* The eggs
are filled with small toys, please make sure they are age appropriate for
your child(ren).

Hanover Permanent Scholarship Fund drive

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

The Hanover Permanent Scholarship Fund (HPSF) is conducting its annual Fund
Drive this month. Letters with return envelopes have been mailed to most
Hanover residents. Donations can also be made on line through Facebook at
https://www.facebook.com/Hanover-Permanent-Scholarship-Fund-218641192303038/
or at www.justgiving.org. Many employers also offer gift matching. HPSF is
a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

HPSF has been awarding scholarships for 42 years thanks to the generous
support of Hanover residents and their families and friends. Please help
the HPSF continue to support our students as they continue their education.

Applications are now being received for the 2019 Scholarships. Information
is available through Hanover High School, however most awards are open to
Hanover residents graduating from any high school. Deadline for
applications is April 12.

Trail walk on the Denham Pond Trails

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

Trail Walk
Denham Pond Trails
Saturday, April 13, 10:00 a.m.

Welcome Spring with the Hanover Open Space Committee (OSC) on a walk on the
Denham Pond trails. In addition to the pond and woodland trail, the OSC
will visit the property’s vernal pools to hunt for emerging life. Total
walk is about one mile. Sturdy walking shoes (waterproof may be helpful)
and insect repellent is advised. Park at Denham Pond off Circuit Street.
You can drive in on the dirt road. If you prefer, you may park on Hillside
Drive and walk to the entrance. DO NOT park on Circuit Street (very busy,
curvy road). Maps and more information are available at
www.hanover-ma.gov/open-space-committee, or you may contact
hanovertrailwalkers@gmail.com .

First Congregational Church events

Dear fellow Hanoverians:
At its Maundy Thursday evening service on Thursday, April 18th, the First
Congregational Church of Hanover will be doing a fasting collection to
benefit the Hanover Food Pantry. Those who wish to fast on Maundy Thursday
can donate the money they would have spent on food to the food pantry.
Baskets will be located at the back of the Church.

The First Congregational Church will also be collecting “Hygiene Kits”
until April 14. Please place the below list of items in a 1-gallon plastic
bag with a zipper closure. These kits go to anywhere in this country and
around the world where there are struggling families.
ALL ITEMS MUST BE EXACT PER REQUEST OF Church World Service
· One hand towel 16X28
· One wide tooth comb removed from the package
· One wash cloth
· One nail file or clipper
· One bar of soap
· One tooth brush in original package
· Ten standard size band aids

The First Congregational Church of Hanover, United Church of Christ will be
hosting the following Holy week events for 2019: Palm Sunday on April 14 at
9:30 a.m., the Maundy Thursday service on April 18 at 7:00 p.m. and the
Easter Sunday services! On Easter morning, April 21, there will be a
Sunrise Service at 5:45 a.m. at the outdoor labyrinth, followed by a free
Pancake Breakfast at 6:30 a.m. and Easter Resurrection Service with drums
and trumpets at 9:30 a.m.
