7:10 How to build consensus to adopt a 100% Renewable Energy Plan –30
minutes
Mark Sandeen, Sustainable Lexington mark.sandeen@sustainablelexington.org
Goal: Learn how to enlist a working group of people from the major parts of
your community to meet together to launch a campaign to adopt a plan to
achieve 100% renewable energy.
Mark will cover:
1. Steps that Lexington is using to gain widespread community support
2. Lexington’s strategies for achieving net zero emissions energy
Mark’s comment: “We haven’t adopted 100% clean energy plan – yet.
Town Meeting and Board of Selectmen have unanimously approved the funds to
develop that plan (three times now… Phase III was approved earlier this
week). But the plan is still under development. Cambridge is a couple years
ahead of us.”

Household Hazardous Waste Collection

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

South Shore Recycling Cooperative (SSRC) will host a household hazardous
waste collection this spring. It will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00
p.m. as follows:

May 5 Hanover ** Transfer Station, 118 Rockland St. (Rt. 139)

** Usable latex paint accepted. It will be recycled into Recolor Paint in
Hanover. Please sort it from your hazardous material. Latex paint may
also be dried and disposed with regular trash.

First Friday devotions

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

These events are open to the public.

FIRST FRIDAY OF THE SACRED HEART DEVOTIONS: 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., May
through October, 2018, (May 4, June 1, July 6, August 3, September 7,
October 5).
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, Chaplet of Divine Mercy, Recitation of
the Rosary, Stations of the Cross, Confession, and Benediction.
Devotions are held every first Friday of the month at the Portiuncula
Chapel, a National Shrine, at Cardinal Cushing Centers, Route 53, Hanover,
MA. (Free Parking available).
Hosted by St. Mary of the Portiuncula Order of Franciscan Seculars.
The prayer intentions for May will be for those suffering from addictions
and from mental health concerns. All are most welcome to come and pray
together for your needs and intentions.

Lawn signs for HHS seniors to benefit HFEE

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

The Hanover Foundation for Educational Enrichment (HFEE) is again offering
to family and friends of HHS Seniors personalized lawn signs that celebrate
your graduate. Signs are weatherproof, 18 in. x 24 in., and printed on both
sides in the classic Hanover blue and gold! The cost is $25 per sign. Order
by Wednesday May 9th for pick up at the HHS on May 17th from 5:30 p.m. –
7:30 p.m.

You can also take some chances to win one of two sets of four seats to
enjoy a priceless view of your graduate. Each set includes two front row
seats and two seats directly behind those. Raffle tickets can be purchased
for the suggested donation of $10 each or 3/$25 through Tuesday May 29th,
winner will be drawn May 30th.

Special offering! Purchase both a graduation sign and 3 graduation seat
raffle tickets for the suggested donation of $45.

Graduation signs and graduation seat raffle tickets may be purchased now at
HFEEMA.ORG

The HFEE raises thousands of dollars that are returned to the Hanover
Public Schools through grants for educational enrichment programs for our
