Hanover Mall/Crossing revitalization Open Forum

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

PECO Real Estate Partners (PREP), owners of the Hanover Mall, are holding
an open forum on Thursday, July 19, 2018 for people to learn about the
Hanover Crossing revitalization project.

The forum will be held on July 19 at 6:30 p.m. in the former JCPenney
building at the front of Hanover Mall. It is open to all local residents
who are interested in learning more about the revitalization project and
asking questions of project officials.

Town Meeting voters overwhelmingly approved a tax increment financing (TIF)
measure in June 2017 that paved the way for the Hanover Mall to be
redeveloped into an open-air lifestyle center, following years of
decreasing customers and empty stores. PREP was then approached by The
Hanover Company – a private real estate company specializing in the
acquisition, development and management of high quality multifamily
residential properties – to potentially construct 297 residences on nine
acres within the mall’s footprint.

PREP will be seeking the approval of zoning variances to move the project
forward.

“Mixed–use is so desirable these days because when you apply the
“Live, Work, Play” mindset you have people who want to live there
because of the retail amenities and retailers that want to set up shop
because of the built-in customer base,’ said Lloyd Sova, vice president
of development at PREP. “One really does fuel the other.”

The residential component will be high-end units marketed to everyone from
young professionals up through empty-nesters and seniors who want to
downsize but still stay in Hanover.

The potential residential component would be built by The Hanover Company,
which has developed other projects across the state including in
Foxborough, Cambridge, Andover and Hanover at The Pinehills in Plymouth.

Representatives from The Hanover5 Company will join PREP personnel at the
July 19th meeting to answer all questions.

Please see the attached flyer for more information or contact Ed Callahan
at ed.callahan@preppg.com.

July 15th – The New City Cowboys
The New City Cowboys are a group of country music lovin’ lifelong friends
based, of all places, just south of Boston, Massachusetts. They’ve been
performing for years as The Armstrong Brothers band to popular acclaim
throughout the South Shore since the 1980’s. But they love the new music
coming out of Nashville so much that five years ago they formed their new
band, The New City Cowboys, to bring the “New Nashville Sound” to the
Boston area. Their goal is to make sure that you have as good a time
listening to their favorite country music as they do performing it for you!
The New City Cowboys are: Jim and Joe Armstrong, Bill Holbrook, as well as
occasional visiting musicians and longtime ‘friends of the band”,
performing the country music you love from the likes of Kenny Chesney,
Jason Aldean, Eric Church, and others.

July 29th – Divas with a Twist
Diva with a Twist is a unique musical group that performs all different
genres of music and is based out of Boston. With five powerhouse female
vocalists, backed by Grammy nominated musicians, Divas with a Twist is sure
to captivate any audience. The musicians and vocalists bring originality
and a high powered sound, creating, and delivering unique and highly
entertaining performances every time! You’ll hear songs by Queen, The Who,
Gloria Estefan, The Temptations, Aretha Franklin, Michael Jackson, Maroon
Five, Lady Gaga, Adele and MORE!

August 12th – John Doney 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. and John Logan 6:00 p.m. –
7:00 p.m.
John Doney is a singer-songwriter with Western MA roots who has settled
down in the South Shore. His music has been influenced by folk, rock, blues
and country. He pulls from the likes of the Beatles and Paul Simon, with a
nod towards rock n’ roll’s country and blues foundation. He has been
writing and performing music across the state for the past 10 years.
By the age of 23, John Logan published two books, was on America’s Got
Talent, and consulted a national Toyota commercial. You may recognize
John’s name from the news where he captured national headlines when Tom
Brady talked about him in his press conference. As the New England Patriots
Team Magician and host of his own web series with the players, John was
also the Opening Act for the Malcolm Mitchell Tour (Super Bowl 51
Champion). A recent graduate from Bryant University, John is currently
presenting keynotes on creativity, helping to develop two television shows,
and being the Associate Producer for an upcoming movie. You can learn more
about John at www.johndukelogan.com.

August 26th – Kelsey Gilbert and Paul Doolittle
Kelsey Gilbert and Paul Doolittle are an acoustic duo playing classic songs
from all decades of the modern era of American popular music.

September 9th – Jumpin’Juba
Jumpin’ Juba plays a mix of old-school blues, early rock and roll, and
roots-y versions of Americana tunes. Steve Hurl sings and bends the guitar
strings, Bruce Ward pounds the piano keys, Jan Kowalski blows a mean sax,
David Langhoff knocks out the beat. Their 1st CD, Bumpity Bump, got great
reviews, and play on many hip radio shows. Their follow-up, Slap Happy,
attracted similar attention. Upbeat music suitable for listening and
dancing. More info: www.stevehurl.com or www.reverbnation.com/jumpinjuba.

September 23rd – Knock on Wood
Knock on Wood is a high-energy acoustic folk-rock duo, featuring
singer-songwriter Howie Newman. Combining acoustic guitar with fiddle,
mandolin and pleasing vocal harmonies, the duo performs classic rock covers
along with funny original music (suitable for all ages). Their repertoire
spans everything from the Beatles to Steely Dan to the Dropkick Murphys.
It’s not your typical guitar-fiddle folk act. Knock on Wood puts on a
lively, fun show with great musicianship and a little bit of humor here and
there. For more information, including videos and music samples, visit
www.howienewman.com/knockonwood.

This concert series is sponsored by the Hanover Cultural Council. For more
information, please contact Parks and Rec Director Lauren Rodday at
