Hanover Emergency Food Pantry Holiday Message

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

This just in from the good folks at the Hanover Food Pantry:

“At this time of year especially, we want to express our gratitude for the
continued support we receive from so many Hanover residents and
organizations. In particular, generous donations received from the Tri
Town Rotary and Phoenix Lodge will make the holidays a little bit brighter
for many Hanover families.

Our shelves are kept stocked with weekly donations collected at Hanover
churches, as well as from contributions from the North River Community
Church and the Fellowship Baptist Church, Panera Bread, Shaw’s, Stop &
Shop, Council on Aging, Walnut Hill Garden Club, Wal-Mart, Hanover Woman’s
Club, Juniors, the Cushing residences, Girl Scouts, The Hanover Club,
Hanover High, Middle and Elementary Schools, the Norwell School Bus
Collection as well as the annual U.S. Postal Workers Food Drive in May.

We are grateful for financial assistance from local businesses, family
trusts, the Congregational Church, Arbella Insurance Company through
matched or doubled donations from Bunker Insurance and Monaghan & Tinkham
Insurance, along with the Lions Club, and the Altrusa International Group.
Monetary contributions allow us to purchase those items not donated and to
provide gift cards so that our clients can purchase milk, eggs, cheese and
other refrigerated groceries.

The Hanover Emergency Food Pantry assists an average of 34 people from 11
families each and every week throughout the year. Each family is allowed
only one visit per month, so quadruple those numbers and you can see that
there is a significant, ongoing need in Hanover.

Volunteers are at the Pantry every Monday (Tuesdays on Monday holidays) to
receive and shelve donations between 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Wednesdays
we are open from 12:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. for distribution to clients.

Holiday Hours next week: Monday 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. for intake and
12:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. for distribution. Closed Wednesday, November 22.

Happy Holidays and thank you,

The Hanover Emergency Food Pantry
