No Hate – Choose Kind

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

Last week, Hanover Middle School Principal Dan Birolini sent an email
to parents of HMS students concerning recent reported behaviors at
HMS. In response to and in order to further his message, interested
residents of the town have created “No Hate, Choose Kind” lawn signs.
The goal is to show support and solidarity among Hanover residents and
to demonstrate a commitment to an inclusive and tolerant community
beyond the four walls of our schools.

The message of “No Hate” is clear and the message of “Choose Kind”
builds on the curriculum at the middle and elementary schools as they
read the book “Wonder.” Residents WITHOUT students in the schools are
also very encouraged to display a sign and help to foster a positive
community response.

Signs may be purchased on the following dates and times, and at these
places:

Friday, November 10, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon – Carrie
Bellerby’s, 120 Old Schoolhouse Lane
Friday, November 10, 12:00 noon – 2:00 p.m. – Libby Corbo’s, 70
Cape Cod Lane
Saturday, November 11, 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. – Libby Corbo’s, 70
Cape Cod Lane
Sunday, November 12, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon – Kim Booker, at the
Hanover Club Gift Show, Hanover High School, Admission fee of
$2/Adult, $1/Child
Sunday, November 12, 12:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. – Cathy
Harder-Bernier’s, 143 Maplewood Drive
Tuesday, November 14, 7:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. – Gabe Mahoney’s, 8
Cedarcrest Road
Wednesday, November 15, 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. – Jocelyn Reardon
Keegan’s, 1044 Broadway, or text her at 781-264-1630 to arrange an
evening date/time that week

Signs will be $5 and must be paid with cash only at pick up; please
bring exact change! Signs are graciously being printed at cost by
Hanover resident Dave Knight of Knight Signs. You will also get a free
bumper sticker with every sign purchase, thanks to the donation of
Hanover resident Jamie McCready of Hot Market Design. Thanks also to
Hanover residents Pam Manning and Karen Walsh of the Imaging Place for
their assistance with the design. Please see attached sample .jpgs of
the signs and bumper stickers. Any potential proceeds from the sale of
the signs will be donated to “Be Better”, a new student group founded
on similar principles at Hanover High School.

This is a non-school related private effort that we hope helps to
unite Hanover in its conversations regarding these very important
topics. For more information, please go to the Facebook page at
https://www.facebook.com/groups/159704768101405/?fref=nf or contact
Carrie Bellerby or Cathy Harder-Bernier at cathyhb@comcast.net .
