Town coordinates on Fireworks site cleanup

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

The Town of Hanover continues to coordinate closely with the Massachusetts
Department of Environmental Protection, the MA Attorney General’s Office,
and Tetra-Tech, the contractor chosen for the environmental cleanup
occurring at the National Fireworks Site. The scope and amount of
excavation and cleanup will likely result in work crews continuing work
throughout the summer months and into the autumn months.

The work includes excavating, removing, and in some cases, detonating items
that remain from the research and manufacturing activities conducted at the
site decades ago. Given the ongoing activities, additional security
measures, including trail closures, additional no trespassing signage, and
the erection of fencing, will be taken to secure the site.

The public is asked to cooperate by complying with the no trespassing
order. Information is posted on the Town of Hanover’s website at:
www.hanover-ma.gov , and an email has been set up to answer any questions:
natlfireworkssiteinfo@hanover-ma.gov .

More support for ALS-One

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

I don’t usually promote individual fundraising efforts for charities
located outside of Hanover. Hanover residents do so many amazing things –
I would be inundated and so would you. :)

However, this particular e-blast request struck a chord because it was for
ALS-One…which in many ways has become a hometown charity because of our
very own Kevin Gosnell, who founded ALS-One. Please join me in supporting
another hometown superstar, John Ferraro.

Next month John is running Falmouth as part of the ALS Knights One Team and
100% of funds raised will go toward finding a cure for ALS. As most of us
know, Kevin Gosnell lost his battle with ALS, but he created an
organization that will continue to raise funds that WILL find a cure to
this horrible disease. John feels honored to run in Kevin’s name as
part of the ALS One Team.

Supporting the cause is very easy. Anyone interested can just log into
John’s fundraising page and make a donation of their choice. The site is
http://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/john-ferraro/2017ALSONETEAM .

If you have further questions, please contact John Ferraro at
john.ferraro@philips.com .
