7:10 How to build consensus to adopt a 100% Renewable Energy Plan –30
minutes
Mark Sandeen, Sustainable Lexington mark.sandeen@sustainablelexington.org
Goal: Learn how to enlist a working group of people from the major parts of
your community to meet together to launch a campaign to adopt a plan to
achieve 100% renewable energy.
Mark will cover:
1. Steps that Lexington is using to gain widespread community support
2. Lexington’s strategies for achieving net zero emissions energy
Mark’s comment: “We haven’t adopted 100% clean energy plan – yet.
Town Meeting and Board of Selectmen have unanimously approved the funds to
develop that plan (three times now… Phase III was approved earlier this
week). But the plan is still under development. Cambridge is a couple years
ahead of us.”

1. Green community choice aggregation—How to make affordable renewable
energy for electricity available in your community—20 minutes
