Join the Hanover PTA on Tuesday, December 10th, for a fundraiser and
social! Thanks to the generosity of Evviva and The Toy Box, they are
planning a few activities to support HPTA.
Tuesday, December 10, 11:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Evviva Hanover, 1775 Washington Street

1. Gift Wrapping event. Shoppers will be able to drop off their presents to
be wrapped. Stay and eat or keep shopping while the elves magically wrap
them for you. Huge thank you to The Toy Box for donating all the wrapping
supplies.

2. Join them for a parent social from 6:00 p.m. to close. They’ll have some
appetizers, and you can purchase additional food and beverages as well!

3. Throughout the day, 10% of food and non-alcoholic beverage purchases
will be donated back to Hanover PTA. See their Facebook page for the flyer

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

Breakfast with Santa, sponsored by the Hanover Woman’s Club, Juniors, will
be held on Saturday, December 14 from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. The event
will take place at Our Lady of the Angels Parish Center, (formerly St.
Mary’s), located at 392 Hanover Street.

Santa will be joined by Mrs. Claus this year. Both will be on hand to hear
the children’s wishes and to pose for pictures with the children. Bring
your cameras to capture the moment.

Guests can enjoy a breakfast of donuts and bagels along with tea, coffee,
juice and water. The children can join others at the craft table where
club members will be on hand to help them create seasonal crafts. In
addition, there will be face painting, a letter to Santa writing area,
raffles and the ever-popular cake walk. Children and adults can shop at
Santa’s Workshop table where all items are a $1 or less, gift wrapping
included.

Cost to attend is $10 per child and $5 for adults. Children under 2 are
free. Proceeds will benefit the club’s community service projects. Come
and enjoy this delightful event to benefit Hanover Woman’s Club, Juniors, a
member of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs.

Hanover Special Town Meeting scheduled for December 9, 2024.

The Town of Hanover will hold a Special Town Meeting in person on Monday,
December 9, 2024, at Hanover High School, 287 Cedar Street. The meeting
will begin at 7:00 p.m., with check-in starting at 6:00 p.m. Only
registered Hanover voters who are physically present will be allowed to
participate in the meeting.

Attendees are encouraged to carpool, and additional handicapped parking
spaces will be available near the high school’s front entrance. Please note
that the meeting will not be accessible via Zoom, but residents can watch
live on the Town of Hanover’s social media channels and Hanover Community
Television.

Ready to spread some holiday cheer?
The library is collecting holiday stockings filled with necessities for
individuals living without permanent housing. Some of the new items that
are most appreciated are:

Gloves
Winter hats
Scarves
Hand and toe warmers
Small toiletries, lip balm, hand lotion
Candy, chocolates, gum
Gift cards to Walmart, Target, grocery stores or fast-food restaurants such
as Dunkin Donuts or McDonalds

The library will have a collection bin on the lobby counter for these
stockings. The collection deadline is Saturday, December 21st. For more

This Sunday is the Phoenix Lodge Public Breakfast.

Join them on Sunday, December 8th from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. for what
some folks say is the “best breakfast anywhere”.

Featuring: French toast, pancakes, eggs, homemade corned beef hash, home
fries, breakfast sausage, bacon, fresh fruit and juices, muffins, toast and
coffee.

ALL YOU CAN EAT
Adults – $10.00
Kids under 12 – $5.00
Kids under 5 – FREE

You just can’t beat this price!!!

All of the proceeds from the breakfasts help to support their Food Pantry
program. Phoenix Lodge regularly donates to the Hanover, Pembroke
Firehouse and Norwell food pantries. They also provide two scholarships
each year to South Shore Regional Vocational Technical High School.

December is their annual breakfast with Santa. Bring the kids to have a
great breakfast and a photo opportunity with the Big Man himself, Santa
Claus!

The day before the State Election, while yours truly was putting the
finishing touches on the Hanover High School gymnasium polling place, the
Town Manager and Select Board were eyeing the impact of level funding on
Town services in Fiscal Year ’26. Lest that important information get lost
in my shuffle, I offer it here, now, and as a follow-up to the previously
outlined impacts of level funding on the Hanover Schools in FY’26. (Please
refer to the “Around Town on the Web” archives found here:

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

Mark your calendars for Friday December 6th for the Annual Bazaar at Our
Lady of the Angels (formerly Saint Mary’s), 392 Hanover Street. This
evening is a wonderful way to usher in the holiday season with friends and
family. Join them for an early dinner or dine a little later! The kitchen
will be open from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Come and see what their talented crafters have made and check out the
amazing raffle items.

Santa will be joining the evening as well. He is looking forward to many
photo opportunities!

There will be special crafts for the kids to enjoy making, lots of
delicious baked goods, and a Christmas movie will be shown in the Life
House at 6:00 p.m. for all to enjoy!
