Hanover School Committee chooses new Superintendent

Dear fellow Hanoverians:
After two hours of interviews and two more hours of debate and
discussion, the Hanover School Committee voted 3 – 2 this evening
(Monday as I write this) to extend an offer to Matthew Ferron,
Assistant Superintendent of Weymouth Schools, to be the next
Superintendent of the Hanover School District.
Contract negotiations between the School Committee and Ferron will
follow. If those negotiations are successful, Ferron would succeed
Interim Superintendent Carl Batchelder.
Should you have any questions, please contact School Committee Chair,
Libby Corbo at lcorbo@hanoverschools.org

8th grade boys basketball is having a great season

Dear fellow Hanoverians:
The 8th grade boys travel B basketball team is headed to the Cranberry
League Championship game this Sunday, March 24, at 12:30 p.m. at
Abington High School.

This year the team went 15-1 during the regular season with their only
loss to Braintree in overtime. This put them in first place for the
regular season and advanced them to the playoffs. They beat Duxbury in
the quarter finals and Sandwich in the semi-finals, which advanced
them to the Championship game to be played against Marshfield this
Sunday. This is a great culmination of their determination and
dedication to this team for 5 years.

Congratulations to the following players on an already successful
season: Cameron Knight, Casey Collins, Danny Ferrarini, Ethan Hallet,
Mark Barry, Nick Sellier, Nico Ribadeneyra, Robert Cleaves, Wyatt
Shisler, Trevor Blaisdell, Brennan Taylor and Nate Collins, and to
their coaches Tim Ribadeneyra and Kevin Sutton.

For more information about this team or their season, please contact
