Hanover Woman’s Club, Juniors Candidates’ Night watch information

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

Candidates’ Night sponsored by the Hanover Woman’s Club, Juniors will take
place on Tuesday, April 26 at 7:00 p.m. (This is not to be confused with
the Selectmen-only candidate forum that the Hanover Unity Council is
hosting this Tuesday, 4/12!)

The forum will once again be held as a Zoom webinar. Candidates’ Night is
an annual event hosted by the club that features candidates running for
office in Hanover. The program will consist of a short presentation by
each candidate running for office followed by a question-and-answer period
by moderator MaryAnn Brugnoli. The forum is open to the public for viewing
on Zoom and local cable TV giving those watching a chance to hear the views
of the candidates on important issues facing the town. Hearing the
candidates in this setting will give town residents the opportunity to cast
an educated vote in the town elections on Saturday, May 7. With 9
positions open for town office, it should be a lively and informative
meeting.

Open positions include: (1) Board of Selectman, (1) School Committee, (1)
Board of Assessors, (1) Planning Board, (1) Board of Health, (1) Library
Trustee for a 3-year term, and (1) Library Trustee for 1 year remaining of
an unexpired term, (1) Town Clerk, and (1) Moderator.

The public may submit questions for the candidates to the club’s email
address at hwcj1970@yahoo.com no later than 4/20.
Questions should be directed to a specific candidate if it pertains to the
office they are seeking. General questions can go to any candidates.
Questions will be checked for appropriateness and duplicity. Deadline for
questions is April 20. Only questions submitted prior to the event will be
asked of the candidates.

Candidate information sheets can be viewed at the club’s Facebook event
page, at www.hanoverwomansclubjuniors.weebly.com, or they will be posted
here on ATOTW as they come in.
