Winter Festival in Four Corners

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

The Town of Hanover and the businesses in the Four Corners Historic
district of Hanover, MA are once again happy to present:
Winter Festival in Four Corners
Friday, December 6 from 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

A variety of family-friendly activities are planned throughout the festival
including: photos with Santa, gingerbread decorating and ornament making
for children, a historical walking tour, and performances by local dancers
and carolers! The entire neighborhood will be lit with luminaries and there
will be a fire pit and craft vendors. Below is a list of the tentative
lineup (schedule subject to change and will be updated as new events are
added):

• Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts will have luminaries lit throughout the
neighborhood at 5:30 p.m.
• “Frozen” parade at 6:00 p.m. Children are welcome to wear costumes.
• “Frozen” movie screening courtesy of Mr. TV at 6:30 p.m.
• Abbey Knoll Photography hosting “Pictures with Santa” at Fire
Station #2 from 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
• Renovisions hosting a cider donut bar and sing along caroling from 6:00
p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
• Strolling Hanover High School VOX Chorus carolers will host
sing-a-longs after 7:00 p.m.
• Ivy and Olives open house all evening with wreath raffle
• Talbot Antiques open house with free antique appraisals
• Stephen O’Neill of the Hanover Historical Society leading a
historical walking tour at 7:00 p.m.
• Phoenix Lodge tours and free clam chowder
• Fire pits on the grass in the Four Corners parking lot provided by the
Boy Scouts, with s’mores provided by the Girl Scouts. Hanover’s new
all-girl Boy Scout troop will also be selling hot dogs as a fundraiser.
• Mary Lou’s 50 cent hot chocolate special
• Mom on the Go food truck, Wahlburgers and other food trucks at Salmond
School
• Children’s ornament making craft area to decorate the Four Corners
Christmas tree
• School Store open at Salmond School selling Hanover gear
• Park and Rec, Council on Aging, Office of Family & Community
Engagement, John Curtis Library + HCTV hosting a photo booth, corn hole
games, and crafts at Salmond School.
• Lorraine’s Cakes hosting Gingerbread cookie decorating for children
• Toys for Tots collecting new toys in the ambulance parked on the square
• St. Andrew’s Church hosting their annual cookie sale
• Beer Garden at Fire Station #2
• Vendor booths on Church Street
• Official Town Ornament for sale at Portside Real Estate

The following performers are blocked off for dancing on the MAIN STAGE
area, which will be located just outside to the left of Mary Lou’s.

• Frozen Performance followed by Parade – 6:00 p.m.
• Jacqueline’s Dance Studio – 6:30 p.m.
• Shoestrings Dance Studio – 6:45 p.m.
• Pembroke School of Performing Arts – 7:00 p.m.
• Connolly Academy Irish Dancers – 7:15 p.m.
• South Shore Ballet Theater Nutcracker – 7:30 p.m.

There will also be a second performance stage in front of the Salmond
School, and the schedule is as follows:
• Pembroke School of Performing Arts 7:30 p.m.

As has been the case in past years, the square will be closed to traffic
with parking available at Columbia Plaza (formerly Tedeschi Plaza). New
this year, a limousine shuttle service will be running every 10 minutes,
from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., between the town bandstand (in front of
Sylvester School at B. Everett Hall Field) to Four Corners. The limos are
stroller friendly.

Public Breakfast with Santa

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

Phoenix Masonic Lodge, located at 133 Broadway (the corner of Broadway and
Washington Street, in the Four Corners area) in Hanover will be having
their next monthly Public Breakfast on Sunday, December 8, 2019. Breakfast
will be served from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. by the volunteer members of Phoenix
Lodge. You’ll be joined this month by none other than Santa Claus
himself, who will be making a special trip from the North Pole to visit the
boys and girls who come to the breakfast. Mom and Dad, this is a great
holiday photo opportunity you won’t want to miss!

Their all-you-can-eat menu includes pancakes, French toast, bacon, sausage,
and their own homemade home fries and roast beef hash. They also offer
scrambled eggs, fried eggs cooked to order, a variety of toasts, various
juices and coffee. The price is $8.00 for adults, $4.00 for kids ages 5 to
12, and kids under 5 are FREE.

Proceeds from the Lodge’s breakfasts are used to support the local food
pantries in Hanover, Norwell and Pembroke.

Folly Hill Trail Walk

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

Folly Hill Trail Walk 11-23-19

Join the Hanover Open Space Committee and the North and South River
Watershed Association on Saturday, November 23 at 10:00 a.m. on the Folly
Hill property for a two mile walk on the Bog Iron Trail. The walk will
feature the recent work of two Eagle Scouts, John Carbone and Christian
Lyttle, including new sections of boardwalk, improved signage and trail
marking. The main trail is named for the iron deposits used years ago in
Hanover’s early industrial past. Now it’s a pretty walk in the woods.
Park at the Lutheran Church, 77 Rockland Street, Hanover. Sturdy walking
shoes and insect repellent are advised. For more information contact

National Honor Society students offer homework help

new topics covered in each class. Free yoga classes for men and women.
Nancy Boyle is the Kripalu certified instructor who will emphasize yoga
philosophy and how it will lead to a healthier, happier life filled with

Essential oils program

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

Please join Hanover Parks and Recreation and Jillian Iacadoro of “Young
Living Essential Oils” as she offers a program on winter wellness using
essential oils! Your $20 enrollment fee includes all the supplies and oils
needed to make six different essential oil-based wellness tools, including
an immune-support roller, a skin-soothing spray, and a calming essential
oil blend (perfect for overwhelmed kids and adults!) They will also be
giving a general overview of “Young Living Essential Oils”, covering how to
use them, and outlining safe oil use for all members of your family. They
will be using grapeseed and coconut oil as carrier oils, please let them
know of any allergies.
