I am a graduate of the Haub School of Business at St. Joseph’s
University in Philadelphia, PA. While at St. Joseph’s, I was a
member of the Men’s varsity crew team. After graduation, I worked in
the hotel industry, and then began my career at KeyImpact Sales &
Systems, Inc. in 1999. KeyImpact is a national food brokerage agency
servicing foodservice distributors and operators throughout the
country. In 2007, my wife and I relocated to Hanover, MA from
Philadelphia, PA to continue my work with KeyImpact as the Director of
Sales and Marketing for our TradeBridge Division. Soon after we moved
to Hanover, my wife and I started a family, and we are now blessed
with 3 fantastic children that will soon start their education in the
Hanover School District.

Over the past 4 years residing in Hanover, I have volunteered as an
assistant coach for Hanover Girls Lacrosse, and most recently assisted
with the HYAA Wrestling Program. In addition to youth sports, I am
currently a member of the 2010/2011 Hanover High School, School
Council, as a “Community Member.”

My experience volunteering on the HHS school council, has allowed me
the opportunity to get more involved in the school community and has
helped me be more aware of the challenges and opportunities that our
school district faces every year. I feel that my business acumen and
analytical skills will provide me with the skill set necessary to
provide valuable insight and ideas to benefit the entire School
Committee. I believe that a healthy school district is one that
aggressively explores any and all opportunities for success to prepare
our elementary and middle school students for the high school
experience, and to create a “21st Century” learning environment
that allows our high school students to be fully equipped to succeed
post graduation.

My wife and I have 3 young children, and we wish for them to have the
best possible educational and social experience while attending the
Hanover Schools. I am confident that if I am elected to this position,
I will have the best interest of all of Hanover’s students in mind
when I am asked to make decisions or provide insight on the future
activity of the School Committee.

Below are a few questions that have been presented to me and my
responses, since my decision to run for this position:

/Q) What are your feelings on the job the present School Committee is
doing and what do you feel you would bring to the table? /A) During my
time this year as a community volunteer for the Hanover High School,
School Council, I am aware that the Hanover school budget is a top
priority for the present School Committee. Tackling this budget is no
small task, and anyone fully committed to working on this budget
should be commended. I feel that if I am elected, I can implement my
business acumen and analytical skills to work toward identifying
potential ideas that would generate additional revenue for the school
district in the years to come.
/Q) What do you feel are some of the major issues facing school
districts today? //A/) I feel that a major concern for the school
districts is properly preparing our students for their next step after
graduation. The Hanover school committee should be engaged in the
constant changing requirements for success in business, trade,
college, and all aspects of post graduation opportunities, so that we
can better prepare our students for the challenges yet to come.
/Q) What do you feel are some of the major issues facing students
today? /A) During my experience as a community volunteer for the HHS
school council, I was fortunate enough to work side by side with some
HHS students implementing the next HHS mission statement, and our
students eagerly want to be educated in a safe and productive “21st
Century” learning environment, where they can be challenged to
exceed their own educational, social, and global expectations. I
believe that this is a question that should be asked internally on a
regular basis, to ensure that every decision the School Committee
addresses, has the students’ needs in the highest regard.
/Q) Do you have any comments on the new high school and/or the recent
vandalism of the school but local students/? A) I think the recent
vandalism is a learning experience for our community. We could not
foresee this happening; however our community should collectively
consider developing a plan so that a scenario like this is preventable
in the future.
/Q) What are the major issues confronting the town which involve your
office? Please express your opinion on these issues and how you
propose to deal with them?/A) I am aware that the town of Hanover and
our school district are facing many challenges as it pertains to our
fiscal budget. Financial hurdles and budget restrictions are something
that we have to face collectively as a community. I have had to face
similar scenarios in the business world over the past several years
due to a poor US economy. I hold professional communication to the
highest regard, and if elected, I fully intend on open communication
with my peers on the committee as well as the Hanover community to
collaborate with ideas to aggressively identify any and all potential
solutions. I also believe that the members of the School Committee
should actively seek out potential sources of revenue within the
current structure of the School District to help offset budget
restraints.
/Q) Why are you running for this office?/A) I believe that the best
way for an individual to contribute to his or her community, business,
or family, is to actively participate. I am certain that I can
contribute my skills, experiences, and passion now, with the goals of
long term success of the school district in the future. Like any
professional organization, one way in which success is measured is by
sustainability. I will be committed to the Hanover community and
Hanover school district for many years to come.
