Red Sox tickets auction to benefit HHS students begins now

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

This just in! How would you like to spend this Friday night (June 3rd)
in the comfort of a luxury suite at Fenway Park while watching the Red
Sox play the Oakland Athletics? Coco Crisp will be back in town as he
and Josh Willingham vie for an All-Star bid for the A’s. Should be a
great game! Once again an anonymous donor has summoned the good
readers of Around Town on the Web to an online auction of Red Sox
tickets. There are four seats available that are located in a luxury
suite overlooking third base at Fenway. These seats include an open
bar and all the food you can eat. It does not get much better than
that!
100% of the proceeds of this on-line auction will go to benefit the
four scholarships that will be given to a graduating high school
senior from the next four classes at Hanover High School. This is the
same scholarship fund that will receive the proceeds from the
Auction/Yard Sale that will take place on June 25th at HHS.
The 4 seats at Fenway have face value of approximately $350 each or
$700 for two. The street value is probably twice that! They will be
sold in two groups of two tickets each to the two highest bidders. If
by chance you want all four tickets, your bid needs to exceed the sum
of the top two highest two-ticket bids.
For those who are relatively new to this list, here’s how it works.
Bidding will begin at $350 for two tickets (or $700 for all 4)
immediately, and will be accomplished simply by sending an e-mail to
cathyhb@atotw.com
. Once you enter a bid, you will be added to the distribution list
that will keep you updated on the latest bid (as best as humanly
possible!). Bids will be accepted until exactly 9:00 p.m. on Thursday
(6/2). If two bids for the same amount are received, the earlier bid
will take precedence. So, it is to your advantage to bid your best
price early. Bids /received/ by me after 9:00 p.m. (computer clock
time) on Thursday will not be considered. So don’t wait until it is
too late!
