Snow emergency update

Dear fellow Hanoverians:
Hanover Emergency Management is working with National Grid to expedite
power restoration to all Hanover residents. As of noontime today
(Monday February 11, 2013) there were over 100 crews and more than 200
workers from National Grid in the Town of Hanover working to restore
power.
The Hanover Senior Center will be open today until 4:00 p.m. as a
warming/comfort station. You can get a cup of hot coffee while you
recharge your mobile device.
Steps that you should take to expedite power restoration to your home:
· Please call National Grid at 1-800-322-3223 to report your outage.
You must make sure your individual outage is documented in National
Grid’s data base.
· If you have damage to the wires that connect your home to the pole
you must contact a licensed electrician to make the necessary repairs
before National Grid can re-connect.

Other steps that you can take to help out:
· Shovel out a 3 foot clearance around the hydrant closest to your
home.
· Check on your neighbor. Help them get shoveled out.
· Make sure that all doorways are free from snow. Drifted snow can
prevent doors from being opened in an emergency.

Call 911 if you have an emergency, or (781) 826-3151 for the Fire
Department’s business line. Special thanks to Jeffrey Blanchard,
Fire Chief and Emergency Management Director for this information, and
for personally checking to see if I had power in order to be able to
send this message!
