Afternoon tea at the library

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

The Friends of the John Curtis Free Library will host an afternoon tea
on Saturday, November 2, from 2:00—4:00 p.m., with Donna and Ron
Lasko who will speak about the “Pleasures of Afternoon Tea.” The
Laskos are tea consultants who regularly provide events at the Windsor
Tea Shop in Cohasset. Their program at the library will examine how
the 5,000 year-old Chinese tea event evolved into the Japanese tea
ceremony to become the afternoon tea of today. Learn everything you
need to know about tea while being treated to the Lasko’s own blend
of Courtship Tea and a selection of desserts. A custom-designed door
prize will be given to one lucky participant, and all can enjoy a
large interactive display from Donna’s collection. The cost of
tickets, largely subsidized by the Friends, is $5/person (a
significant discount from the $35/person cost for their programs at
other venues). This event is recommended for adults. Purchase your
tickets today at the children’s circulation desk—tickets are limited
to 40 and will sell out quickly. Contact Tracy Marchetti for
additional information at tjmarchetti@verizon.net
