Barn Workshop: Hearth and Home Storytelling
Saturday June 7th, 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
At the Hanover Historical Society’s Stetson House Museum
Taught by Andrea Lovett, professional storyteller
Have you ever wished you could tell a story better? If you’ve lived a life
you have a story to tell! This workshop is a great introduction for
beginner storytellers into the art form of storytelling. During the
workshop you will begin to explore the art of storytelling through guided
sense memory, writing, conversations, individual and group exercises.
Attendees will leave with:
A personal story of their own creation ready to tell, tips on how to
present a successful personal narrative, tips and exercises on story
pacing, tempo, voice intonation, body language, and facial expression,
handouts and a simple formula to aid in the crafting of additional person
narratives.
Whether you are telling stories in your board room or with your friends,
this workshop will give you the toolkit to craft any story!
About the teacher:
Andrea Lovett is co-founder of the award winning organization Massmouth
Inc. She has taught and performed stories nationally and internationally
for 22 years. She recently ran the sold out story venue at the James
Library in Norwell. Lovett is currently a teaching artist for Young
Audiences of Massachusetts. She believes stories and storytelling help
create strong, healthy, and connected communities.
Andrea has been twice featured in the Boston Globe Magazines G page.
