Teen Events at the John Curtis Library

Dear fellow Hanoverians:
Below please find a list of Teen Events that will be held at the John
Curtis Library this summer!

Hunger Games Basic Survival Course
Monday July 21, 2014
4:00 – 5:00 p.m.
Large Meeting Room

Animal World experience will be holding a basic survival course teaching
teens skills like:
Creating shelter; Locating and purifying water; Learn how to building a
fire quickly; Practice Katniss’s twitch up snare; Learn basic archery
skills; and more!

Registration is required due to limited space. Register by calling the
library at 781-826-2972, emailing the Reference Librarian Donald at
dcolon@ocln.org or by stopping by the Reference desk.

Teen Summer Movie Nights at the John Curtis Free Library

Light refreshments will be served. These are drop in movie events so
registration is not necessary.

Tues. July 22, 2014; 4:00 p.m.; The Book Thief (121 mins PG-13)
“While subjected to the horrors of World War II Germany, young Liesel finds
solace by stealing books and sharing them with others. In the basement of
her home, a Jewish refugee is being sheltered by her adoptive parents.”

Tues. July 29, 2014; 4:00 p.m.; The Wolverine (126 mins PG-13)
“When Wolverine is summoned to Japan by an old acquaintance, he is
embroiled in a conflict that forces him to confront his own demons.”

Tues. August 5, 2014; 4:00 p.m.; Avatar (162 mins PG-13)
“A paraplegic Marine dispatched to the moon Pandora on a unique mission
becomes torn between following his orders and protecting the world he feels
is his home.”

Tues. August 12, 2014; 4:00 p.m.; Eragon (104 mins PG)
“In his homeland of Alagaesia, a farm boy happens upon a dragon’s egg —
a discovery that leads him on a predestined journey where he realized he’s
the one person who can defend his home against an evil king.”
