Dear fellow Hanoverians:
Hanover Town Clerk Cathy Harder-Bernier announced this week that nomination
papers are available in her office for the Annual Town Election scheduled
to be held May 9th, 2015.
“Election Day is set for May 9th and signed nomination papers are due
March 23rd. I heartily encourage my fellow citizens to consider running
for office and become more involved in our terrific small town,”
Harder-Bernier said.
On the ballot this spring will be elections for two members of the Board of
Selectmen for a three year term each, two members of the School Committee
for a three year term each, one member of the Housing Authority for a five
year term, one member of the Board of Assessors for a three year term, one
member of the Planning Board for a five year term, one Board of Health
member for a three year term, three members of the Board of Public Works
for a one, two or three year term each, one Trustee of the Public Library
for a three year term and one Moderator for a one year term.
“With 13 seats on the ballot, there is room for interest on the part of
many people from all corners of Hanover. Come pick up a set of nomination
papers today!” said Harder-Bernier. Interested residents are encouraged
to contact the Town Clerk’s Office, any of the related departments, or
sitting members of the board or committee they are interested in becoming a
part of in order to gain more information about an open position.
To run for office, candidates only need to obtain 50 signatures of
registered Hanover voters in order to be placed on the ballot. Candidates
for office have until Monday, March 23rd to submit the signed nomination
papers to the Registrar’s Office for signature certification. Attached
