Art classes at the library

Dear fellow Hanoverians:
Six-week art classes will be offered for both children and adults at the
John Curtis Free Library this February – stay creative and warm with us!
Please note spaces are very limited – there are only 6 or so spaces open
for each class at this time. Register as soon as possible at the library
with your $10 supply fee.
The following are brought to you by the Friends of the John Curtis Free
Library:
• Pam Golden, a sculptor and art educator (www.pamgolden.com), will teach
children ages 6-8 to create clay animals, masks, puppets, and more. This
class will meet on Thursdays from 3:30 – 4:30 p.m. in the children’s room
at the library from February 26 until April 2. This class will support 10
children. Preference is given to children who have not taken this class
before.

• Kelly Burke, a Hanover artist and art educator
(www.saturdaystudioart.com ), will teach children ages 3-5 to explore a
variety of different materials including chalk pastel, oil pastel,
watercolor paints, model magic clay, collage materials and acrylic paint.
All projects will be age appropriate, and parents are invited to attend
(especially for the younger children). This class will meet on Fridays from
10:15 – 11:15 a.m. in the children’s room, February 27 through April 3.
This class will support 10 children.

• Kelly Burke, a Hanover artist and art educator
(www.saturdaystudioart.com ), will also teach adults to explore the uses of
different materials. The class will focus on floral drawings using oil
pastel, fruit arrangements using chalk pastel, watercolor landscape
paintings, and a Cape Cod inspired light house acrylic painting on canvas.
Some projects may need 2 classes to finish. This class will meet on Mondays
from 1 – 2 p.m. in the large meeting room downstairs from February 23
through March 30. This class will support 12 adults.

All classes are fully funded by the Friends of the Library with
participants asked to pay only a $10 supply fee. Registration is happening
now with your $10 supply fee. Children may be registered at the
children’s circulation area while adults may register upstairs at the
adult circulation desk. Sign up quickly as these spaces won’t last!
