Dear fellow Hanoverians:
With the 10th Annual Hanover Day behind us, I thought I would take a moment
to “shout out” to all of the hardworking volunteers who made up the
Hanover Day Committee this past year and thank them for their tremendous
efforts on behalf of the arts and our community.
Please join me in thanking:
Karen Cass
Chris Haraden
Jeannie Hickey
Nancy Devlin
Meghan Walsh
Derek Schipper
Christine Hillier
Karen Prentice
Liz Collins-Adams
Frank Adams
Kathi Thomson
Jen Coleman
Carrie Walsh
Lynne Hash
Dave Malekpour
And of course, their leader, Katie Duff.
Thank you also to the members of the Hanover Cultural Council who have been
very supportive of the event. In Katie Duff’s words, “all of these
people have worked tirelessly to bring all of the elements needed to run
the event together. This included fundraising, publicity, food and vendor
coordination, volunteers and more. This event would not be able to take
place without the dedication, patience and commitment that this team has.
I am proud to be involved, not only with this fun event, but with this
wonderful group of enthusiastic people. We are happy to be able to give
the money we raise at Hanover Day back to the community through grants from
the Hanover Cultural Council. We are always looking for more volunteers
who are interested in helping out with jobs both large and small. If
anyone is interested, they can e-mail me at katieduff@hanoverday.com.”
And, as someone who works every day in town, I would like to also add that
countless town employees – police officers, firefighters, DPW staff,
health inspectors, COA breakfast planners, Park and Rec staff,
Selectmen’s Office staff (and surely others I don’t even know about)
– worked hard behind the scenes and on the day of the event, thereby
ensuring that everything orchestrated by these amazing Hanover Day
volunteers ran safely and smoothly. Thanks, good colleagues.
It was quite a couple of days, and we have a lot to be proud of here in
Hanover. As a friend of mine said to me as we sat and watched the
fireworks, “this is an awesome day to live in Hanover. All of my friends
from ____ are moving down here because of days like this!”
Simply put, thanks to everyone involved for bringing our community
together.
