Dear fellow Hanoverians:
The children’s summer reading program will kick off Friday, June 30 with a
visit by Animal World Experience from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Matt Gabriel
presents a variety of live animals and teaches the audience about them and
their lives and habits. The title of the program is “Home is Where the
Heart is”; the focus will be on how animals make and maintain their homes
in the wild. During the second hour, from noon to 1:00, children will be
able to pet and hold some of the animals. Matt and his animals have
appeared at the library every summer for several years and are always a
hit. The program is funded by the Friends of the Library.
Registration for summer reading will begin right after the program.
Children will receive reading logs on which to record the time they spend
reading, to earn prizes throughout the summer.
This summer’s theme is “Build a Better World”, and programs and performers
will all relate to it in various ways.
To attend Animal World Experience, please register online from the Calendar
section of the library’s website, www.hanovermass.com/library. For more
information, call 781-826-2972, extension 4, or email the children’s
librarian at lcampbell@ocln.org.
